V2024.01

A new major version of dbSQWare has just been released!

This first version of the year was a little later than expected, because it includes 2 major new features:

– the possibility of running jobs on demand via the graphical interface:
–> creation of jobs by administrators,
–> delegation of the right to execute these jobs to certain groups of users,
–> launching jobs by authorized users,
–> monitoring the execution of these jobs.

– the end boundary for exceptions:
–> possibility of putting an end date on a specific setting (check backups, thresholds, etc.)

Constantly evolving, dbSQWare adapts to the expectations of our users to facilitate their daily lives and gain in efficiency and time, on the daily tasks of operating database engines.

IT & CYBERSECURITY MEETINGS 2024 => M-1

Only one MONTH left until the IT and Cybersecurity Meetings 2024 show!

This one-to-one show dedicated to professionals aims to promote direct “face to face” interaction between Top Decision Makers and Exhibitors through pre-organized meetings ahead of the event.
With :

– 6,700 one-to-one meetings
– 191 exhibitors.

Emmy, Séverine and Michel Payan from the dbSQWare team will be present on stand A20-B19, at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes.
The opportunity to discuss DBMS, their backups and restorations, copies of environments, reorganizations, updates statistics and the 360° vision of the IT equipment.

2006-2023

17 years !
17 years ago, the idea was born to develop software capable of managing the daily administration tasks of several different database engines.

Born from a real need for companies, faced with the same problem of setting up (then maintaining) operating scripts for their different DBMSs, the project seemed daring, even infeasible for some.
However, through reflection and work, the software was created in 2007 while respecting the prerequisites for 4 engines.
Then gradually, the software integrated other engines to be able to manage the most used ones and respond to user requests.
Today, 12 engines are supported.

dbSQWare is unique and despite the breadth of its model, it is constantly evolving to follow DBMS version upgrades, adapt to different platforms and add new features.
Thank you to our users for their requests and for their trust, because it is for them and thanks to them that the software exists.

12 DBMS SUPPORTED

Flexible and modular, dbSQWare offers a complete multi-engine database operating base that adapts to all environments.

It supports 12 types of database engines (relational or NoSQL).

And despite the diversity of these database engines and their heterogeneity, with dbSQWare, their operation and their maintenance are done in a completely homogeneous way.

12 DBMS SUPPORTED

dbSQWare is a multi-DBMS operating and maintenance software that supports 12 types of database engines which are among the most widespread and most used.
Supported versions have a range of 30 years, from the early 90s for some DBMS (Oracle 7, SQL Server 6.5) until today.

dbSQWare supports 9 RDBMS (Relational Database Management System):
👉   Oracle, most popular on UNIX/Linux
👉   SQLServer, developed by Microsoft and mainly deployed on Windows
👉   Teradata, a historical RDBMS with colossal storage capacities
👉   Sybase, acquired by SAP and former market leader
👉   DB2 LUW, the distributed system version of the Mainframe engine
👉   Ingres, dating from the 80s and in Open Source since 2004
👉   MySQL, the most popular Open Source RDBMS
👉   MariaDB, a fork of MySQL
👉   PostgreSQL, the most advanced Open Source RDBMS

and 3 NoSQL:
👉   Cassandra and her column-oriented organization
👉   MongoDB, the most popular NoSQL, with a document-oriented organization
👉   Adabas Linux version, accessible by the natural language.

Despite the diversity of these database engines and their heterogeneity, dbSQWare makes it possible to have a common approach via centralized and homogeneous exploitation.

V2023.01

The new version V2023.01 of dbSQWare has just been released!

This first version of the year includes several major new features, such as:

– the addition of the “tee” command and the removal of the “tail” command at the log management level, in all scripts,
(the custom scripts in place will have to be adapted)
– the management of a locking file for SQL Server, in order to avoid having two backups of the same type at the same time on the same database,
– use of pigz (if installed) instead of gzip for archive backups, PITRs and dumps in PostgreSQL.

Constantly evolving, dbSQWare adapts to the demands of our users to make their daily life easier and to gain in efficiency and time, on the daily tasks of operating database engines.

Multi-DBMS

– “Do you know the dbSQWare software?”

dbSQWare is a multi-DBMS operating and maintenance software that supports 12 types of database engines such as:
– Relational (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLServer, MySQL, MariaDB, Teradata, Sybase, Ingres, DB2 LUW)
– or NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, Adabas Linux version).

Despite the diversity of these database engines and their heterogeneity, with dbSQWare, daily operations and maintenance tasks are carried out in a completely homogeneous way => backups, restores, copies of environments, reorganizations, update statistics and vision.

V2022.04

dbSQWare version 2022.04 has just been released!

This latest version includes several major new features expected by our users:
– the possibility of managing repository instances by API:
–> in consultation, creation and update
– the ability to generate indicators, by API, for:
         –> backups and storage.
The management of indicators for the Job part is being finalized and will be available in the next patch.

Constantly evolving, dbSQWare adapts to the demands of our users to make their daily life easier and to gain in efficiency and time, on the daily tasks of operating database engines.
